A. Yes you can book on line through the availability page at the top of this page. However, if you prefer please call Jenny on 01822 610136 who will be able to assist you. We also accept most credit and debit cards without any fees.
Q.CAN I BOOK A SHORT BREAK INSTEAD OF A FULL WEEK?
A. Yes we offer breaks of two nights plus depending on the time of year.
Q. IS THERE PARKING AT THE STATION?
A. There is ample free parking.
Q. DO THE COTTAGES HAVE A BBQ?
A. Yes each cottage has a gas bbq.
Q. HOW NEAR TO DARTMOOR IS THE STATION?
A. We are 5 minutes by car and 20 minutes walking
Q. HOW CLOSE TO TAVISTOCK IS THE STATION?
A. The station sits in a quiet position overlooking the town but can be accessed in less than 5 minutes
Q. HOW CLOSE IS TAVISTOCK TO CORNWALL?
A. We are 10 minutes from the River Tamar which is the border between the 2 counties.
Q. WHAT LINEN IS PROVIDED IN THE COTTAGES?
A. All bed linen, towels, dressing gowns, slippers, tea towels, oven gloves Please note we do not use feather pillows or quilts.
Q. ARE DOGS ALLOWED?
A. Sorry but we do not allow dogs.
Q.WHAT ARE THE BEDS LIKE?
A. We have single beds, double beds and a super king bed. The majority are Millbrook handmade beds. We use double quilts on the single beds, king quilts on the double beds and super king quilt on the 6 ft bed.
Q. ARE THE UTILITIES INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?
A. There are no hidden extras for utilities.
Q. CAN CHILDREN PLAY SAFELY OUTSIDE THE COTTAGES?
A. The old platform is at the rear of the cottages and children can play perfectly safely here. Also the station is approached through electric gates for added security.
Q. IS THERE A HAIRDRYER IN THE COTTAGES?
A. Yes there is

A. Yes there is a flat screen tv in each house with freeserve

Yes there is free wi-fi in all the cottages
Q. IS THERE A MUSIC SYSTEM?
A. Yes there are 2 music systems in each house along with iPod docking centres.
Q. IS THERE A WELCOME PACK ON ARRIVAL?
A. Yes all guests are welcomed with milk, fruit juice, tea, sugar and either a homemade cake or local cheese and crackers. There is baco foil, cling film, kitchen roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing tablets, vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper, soaps and shower gel and toilet rolls in all the cottages.
Q. ARE THERE VIEWS?
A. Yes from the garden there are 180 degrees of views of Dartmoor, the Tamar Valley and Tavistock
Q. DO THE COTTAGES HAVE A QUALITY RATING?
A. The station has won the best restored railway station award from the National Railway Heritage Awards. We are in the 2015 Hall of Fame with Trip Advisor as well as being awarded the Certificate of Excellence
Q. ARE THERE LOCAL PLACES TO EAT THAT ARE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF THE COTTAGES?
A. Yes Tavistock is blessed with very good restaurants and coffee shops.
Q. IS THERE A HIGHCHAIR, STAIRGATE AND COT?
A. yes we can supply all of the above, please note we do not supply linen for the travel cot.
Q. ARE THERE DISCOUNTS FOR COUPLES ONLY BOOKING?
A. Yes there is a 5% discount for a couple only in the Porter’s Office and Ticketing Hall.
Q. CAN I SMOKE AT THE STATION?
A. For the comfort of all our guests smoking is not allowed in the cottages or on the site at all.
Q. HOW FAR IS THE NEAREST RAILWAY STATION?
A. The nearest station is Plymouth.
Q. ARE THERE REGULAR BUSES?
A. Yes Tavistock has a very good bus service to outlying areas and a bus leaves every 15 minutes to Plymouth.
Q. HOW FAR IS THE NEAREST AIRPORT?
A. The nearest airport is Exeter, about an hour away.
Q. WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN WEST DEVON?

Q. WHERE CAN I PLAY GOLF?

A. Yes there are 2 fishing facilities within a 10 minute drive.
Q. WHERE IS THE NEAREST BEACH?
A. The nearest beaches are
Bigbury On Sea, 18 miles, blue flag beach
Thurlestone Sands 24 miles, National Trust owned. A favourite spot for water sports including kayaking, windsurfing and diving. Swimming is safe too, and lifeguard cover is full summer.
Q. DOES THE STATION PROVIDE BYCICLES?

Q. ARE THE COTTAGES INDEPENDENT?
A. Yes the cottages are privately owned by Colin and Jenny Rogers.
Q. WHERE DO WE COLLECT THE KEYS?
A. The owners live in the station house on site and are there to meet you and show you around your cottage and tell you about the area.
